I’ve been absent from the blogoshpere WAY too long! All thanks to that damned speedy that never fails to dissapoint me. There was some time where I couldn’t connect every night frm 6pm till midnight. Secondly, for some unknown reason, all of my internet bookmarks are gone! Countless of links that I’ve gathered, all gone! Knew I should’ve backed it up every once in a while. Well, without my bookmarks, I don’t even know where to point my browser to…
Anyway, today I drew a few portraits of my friends - something I wouldn’t even have thought about in the past. Though my drawings are still far from the real thing, I had fun! Yeah, most say that it doesn’t look like them at all. Oh, and also some people are shy when I start to draw their faces, that’s why I only get a ‘looking down’ pose here. Agit, hope you would smile more.
Hammond is so cool playing his guitar up to his chest
Those of you who like The Strokes might be familiar with Albert Hammond Jr. He’s the rhythm (sometimes lead) guitarist of The Strokes - the one with the curly hair and a stratocaster. When not rocking out with The Strokes, he is a solo singer song-writer.
Always liked Albert’s style with those clean and simple melodies. To my surprise, he can sing as good as Julian Casablancas - and to be honest I prefer Albert’s singing over Casablancas’ :D. Not sure exactly what genre this falls into, but I think it’s safe to say that it sounds Indie. I quickly fell in love when I watched his music video, 101. Nice suit he got there.
Sure u guys (Indonesians or Malaysians :D) know Andra & the Backbone’s Sempurna. Was surfing random stuff the other day and stumbled upon this, somewhat similar song. Only this one is done by Japanese pop duo Double U. The intro is almost 100% the same. Not sure who copy who, but Indonesia has quite a reputation of ripping off stuff lol.
Recently done Wordpress theme. It seemed to take forever lol. Again, gotta apologize to labanon for taking so long. This is why I need my own personal computer, so I can be available in front of my computer when inspiration strikes - which I’m planning to get with my hard-earned money :D. Enough of that though, this is one of my best designs. But still not perfect though - I’m a bad coder haha.
Was really pissed when I found out I can’t play it with my gamepad. But later I found out playing with keyboard and mouse is more fun lol. It works like the Guitar Hero controller, where I fret with my left hand on keyboard and pick/strum with my right hand on mouse. I can have fun and train my fretting hand at the same time, kill two birds with a stone there.
In terms of graphic ofcourse, PC wins. It’s just that the requirements doesnt make up with the outdated graphic, there will always be a glitch here and there even if you have high-end hardwares. My case, settings are lowest and disable the crowds - yeah, still lags somewhere along the way causing me to screw up perfect streaks.
Slash will jam along if you play ‘Welcome to the Jungle’
Overall it’s a poor port from PS2 by Aspyr (heck, any games that been ported from PS2 to PC sucks), but still worth it for me. Well don’t get me wrong, Guitar Hero 3 itself is a damn fine game. Total of 74 songs and widely diverse, from pop, rock ‘n roll, to shredding metal.
