I’ve been absent from the blogoshpere WAY too long! All thanks to that damned speedy that never fails to dissapoint me. There was some time where I couldn’t connect every night frm 6pm till midnight. Secondly, for some unknown reason, all of my internet bookmarks are gone! Countless of links that I’ve gathered, all gone! Knew I should’ve backed it up every once in a while. Anyway, today I drew a few portraits of my friends - something I wouldn’t even have thought about in the past. Though my drawings are still far from the real thing, I had fun! Yeah, most say that it doesn’t look like them at all. Oh, and also some people are shy when I start to draw their faces, that’s why I only get a ‘looking down’ pose here. Agit, hope you would smile more.
Sure u guys (Indonesians or Malaysians :D) know Andra & the Backbone’s Sempurna. Was surfing random stuff the other day and stumbled upon this, somewhat similar song. Only this one is done by Japanese pop duo Double U. The intro is almost 100% the same. Not sure who copy who, but Indonesia has quite a reputation of ripping off stuff lol.
Funny, I used to be fond of blogging back then (before I had kiboard.com). Now I simply don’t have anything to write about. Write about my life? Who the F wants to hear that lol. Write about current events? I dun keep up with current affairs. Write about anime reviews? Meh, with Speedy, It’ll take me a month to finish 10 episodes.
While my friends are making money from their blogs, mine is still clean with no signs of ads. My excuse is, ads ruin the design. But then again, who cares! They can generate more than enough to pay for hosting and whatnot. Yeah, apparently one can generate loads of cash just from blogging. That inspired me a bit.
So I guess I plan to get back blogging again, after I decide what kind of content I’ll be aiming at. Hopefully I can get a camera to kickstart some sort of a photoblog about art and culture in Bandung. Brush up on my Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and drive traffic in. Before that though, I still have a few WP-themes to make… OK back to work.
I just got broadband installed. Not much, but atleast it’ll keep me connected. Not accustomed to high speed DSL, Indonesian Telkom “Speedy” only offers a mere 384kbps connection for personal use. Aside from very expensive monthly fee, (compared to other countries, especially developed ones) Speedy has its own limitations. The package they offer is time based and bandwidth based. Apparently, unlimited is only available for business purposes (not sure), and it’s damn expensive.
All this makes me think that TM’s (Telekom Malaysia) Streamyx isn’t really THAT bad after all. I mean, I was cruising 1Mbps then, almost 4 times what I’m getting here - and with a cheaper fee too. So, Malaysians think again before cursing streamyx. We can’t always get the bandwidth they promised. Although I gotta say Streamyx got some really bad customer service.
It’s that time of the year again eh. 2007 went by in a flash, it was filled with tears and joy blah blah whatever. For those spending new year in the streets, I bet you’re trapped in a massive traffic jam. But hey, some people enjoy being in such a great crowd - it’s quite a view too. Wether you spend the night outside or in the comfort of your home, just make sure you have someone to keep you company.
New Year’s resolution? Hmm, I just hope this time I get good grades. Oh, I sure wouldn’t mind doing an illustration for a client. Happy new year ppl!
